Jenny enthused: “Macmillan is a charity very close to my heart and it is always a pleasure to be able to support such a worthwhile cause. The team at Macmillan do such a wonderful job and I am pleased that myself and the wider team at Cortech have been able to help in some small way.”
The fundraiser hosted at Cortech’s headquarters in Knutsford, Cheshire and themed around ‘Cake, Coffee and a Good Giggle’ involved every department across the business.
Members of staff were invited to bake a cake of their choice and colleagues were able to make a donation for each cake they tried!
“What made the event so special was it brought together the whole team to make a difference, but importantly everyone entered into the spirit of the occasion. There were some fantastic cakes on offer and we were all somewhat over faced by lunch time!!”, Jenny added.
While raising money was the theme of the day, it was not lost on some that there was a prize on offer for the best cake as part of the ‘cake off’. This was voted for by the entire Cortech team.
“There were clearly certain members of the team with their ‘eyes on the prize’ which created a bit of healthy competition, but in the end (and somewhat to my embarrassment) I was announced joint winner with my colleague Alison, Cortech’s Project Administrator,” Jenny went on to say.
Jenny has previously organised similar charity events for Cortech including a Text Santa fundraiser last December.
